Hello, A user here at my company has an odd issue. About 2 weeks ago her Skype conversation history stopped saving to her 'conversation history' folder in outlook 2016. I checked her computer and not only is the add in not enabled is simply isn't even there. I can't locate the 'conversation history add-in for microsoft office 2016' at all.
It's not in 'inactive add ins' and it's not in 'disabled items.' It feels like the ocoffice.dll is corrupted somehow. So i ran an office suite repair from the control panel but it still isn't working. Sometimes your office apps may act in unexpected ways and it becomes necessary to perform a repair of your office installation To repair office applications please see the following steps. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
Conversation history folder is not showing in outlook. I don't see a folder in outlook named 'conversation history. I also noticed that MAPI is not working in. Conversation History Not Updating If your Exchange conversation history is not updating in Outlook, this is most likely because the Skype for Business client cannot detect the Exchange Web Services Location (EWS).

And I can’t see the configuration information in the post. You might copy and paste the picture directly when you replied. Please capture a screenshot including EWS and make sure upload it by Insert image button. Meanwhile, please confirm if the save IM conversations in Outlook feature is enabled in Skype for Business client via Options Personal. Besides, before we process further, I’d like to confirm whether you have tried the methods Huni mentioned above. If you have the test result, please let me know it.
If it doesn’t work, please provide the information of the questions Huni brought about. It will help us narrow down. Moreover, as a side note, this feature will work only when the user signs in the same account in Outlook client and Skype for Business client. Also, please check if the SIP (Sign-in address) is the same as SMTP address. Regards, Marvin. I uploaded the image of the EWS configuration above. It says MAPI status: OK and the EWS has not fully initialized.
I have confirmed the Skype setting for saving IM conversations in the conversation history folder is checked. I have already tried the Office suite repair in from the control panel mentioned by Hani. The user is signing into the same account for both. However, the SIP is different form the SMTP.
SMTP is. Email address is removed for privacy. SIP is. Email address is removed for privacy. However, this was working fine for months of recorded skype convo's up until 2 weeks ago when it finally stopped working. The weird thing is I cannot locate this add-in anywhere in her Outlook.
I have easily located it in my outlook but isn't in 'inactive add ins' and it's not in 'disabled items' on her machine. Thanks again for everyone's help. Hi ITSupportMike, The screenshot indicates the EWS (Exchange Web Service) is not in the correct status. Regarding this issue, please try the following methods to check if it works. Please try to search the conversation history in Outlook search bar. It’s possible for Skype for Business to send conversations to Outlook successfully but not go to Conversation History folder. Since the SMTP address is different with SIP, please try to change the SIP to the same as SMTP address in Admin Center.
Sometimes, Skype for Business won’t trust the autodiscover certificate if the SMTP is different from SIP. Try to delete the SIP folder in the following path. As a side note, you can just move the folder to another place to avoid data loss. C: Users%username% AppData Local Microsoft Office 16.0 Lync 4. Try to configure her account to another Outlook client with Conversation History add-in, and check if the conversation will be saved in the folder. Additionally, if the issue persists, I’d like to collect the information below.
Please capture a screenshot of EWS Internal URL and EWS External URL in Configuration Information. What’s the current environment of the account, Exchange hybrid, Exchange On-premises or Exchange Online? Regards, Marvin.
So, i think you have helped me discover a wider spread issue than just this one user. I have found out that a bunch of employees have been getting this Skype Credentials request error upon sign in Each person who gets this error has the exact same EWS configuration information. Their EWS internal and external URL is blank. If the user doesn't get the credentials request then everything is ok and the URL's are populated correctly. Our current setup is Exchange 2010 on Prem and using Office 2016 Volume licensing.
I am starting to think something is miss-configured on our exchange server or skype server.
